The AALD was founded with the professional landscape designer in mind. You may be at the beginning of your career, or a seasoned professional, but in either case, our courses are for people interested in advancing their skills in landscape design.
curriculum
Courses are developed with intent of providing an educational experience that is not easily available elsewhere. Courses currently offered, or in development, include topics ranging from grading and drainage, to hardscape design, to site design. We also plan to offer courses in planting design, creativity and business topics. Course material is designed to be universal in terms of plant hardiness zones, so there are no "my favorite plant" lectures.
history
The AALD is a private venture founded by Tim Thoelecke Jr. in 2006. Tim's former company, Garden Concepts, won numerous awards from __ different organizations, and has been published in 70-plus different publications. His vision for AALD is an outgrowth of his vision for Garden Concepts: To be recognized, within and outside the profession, as an innovative leader in landscape design education.
future
As more courses are developed, we hope you will return for more. We have a lot to offer. As they say, "You'll never live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself," so you may as well learn as much as you can from others who have "been there."
Thank you for your interest, and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
